After six years on the cinema scene, we’re sad to announce that WeLoveCinema will stop updating from Friday 4 August, 2023.
This wasn’t an easy decision, but we’re incredibly proud of what we achieved in that time, and are grateful for the experiences and opportunities that came our way.
During our run, we set out to connect audiences to the best of what London cinema had to offer, and make it as easy as possible for audiences to find the most diverse films showing in the capital. As the website grew, so did our coverage, allowing us to access the global festival scene and extend our reach – and our team.
We here at WeLoveCinema want to thank our users and our readers for all their continued support, and for making us the go-to source for all their London movie-going needs.
We also want to thank each and every writer who was part of our journey – who helped to make the site into a platform for thoughtful, original, and engaging writing for so long. Our pool of over 60 writers reviewed more than 1,200 releases, covering a wide range of films and filmmakers to rival even the biggest publications.
Before we sign off, though, a couple of positives: The WeLoveCinema Book, collecting new writing from our contributors, past and present, will be available later in the year, along with a final screening to take place at a London location.
Please check back for updates or sign up here to receive the latest announcements.
Importantly, all of our reviews and features will remain accessible online going forward.
For now, it’s farewell. It’s been a real honour to cover this great city and some amazing cinema. See you at the movies!
