Best Special Screenings in London This Week
Sometimes the biggest screen possible isn't enough. Thankfully the capital has lots to offer in the way of unique showings...
London. Vast, diverse, and always ready to surprise you, no matter what your taste. In Walloh’s case our thing is cinema, of course, which means we’ve scouted out the capital for the most unique, interesting, and – let’s face it – outright weird film screenings taking place this week. From an American masterpiece screened on a rooftop, to a modern classic that permits pets, there’s bound to be something here to suit everyone…
Thunder Road + Director Q&A
When? 18:35, Monday 13th May How much? From £11 Where? Leicester Square
What is it?

Sounds interesting! What else?
The film will be shown on a lovely 35mm print, whilst Cummings himself (who also edited and composed music for the film – what a workhorse!) is renowned for his sense of humour. In other words: this will be informative and funny. Click here for tickets and more info.
Captain America at a Pizza Joint in Chiswick
When? 18:35, Wednesday 15h May How much? From £13 Where? Chiswick
What is it?

Sounds interesting! What else?
In the wake of Endgame, this screening – shown on a self-described “giant screen” – is the perfect antidote for those post-Avengers blues. Did we mention there will be pizza? Click here for tickets and more info.
Beats + An Awesome Afterparty
When? 20:30, Thursday 16th May How much? From £5 Where? Dalston
What is it?
It’s a screening of Beats, a film about two friends who hit an illegal rave in Scotland, at the wonderfully historic Rio Cinema in Dalston, followed by a fantastic afterparty at nearby Temple Bar. The musical line-up includes JD Twitch (Optimo), Altern 8 (DJ set), and Jaye Ward.
Sounds interesting! What else?
Beats is directed by Black Mirror’s Brian Welsh, and produced by Steven Soderbergh of Ocean’s Eleven fame, so you know you’re in for a treat. This screening also takes place a day before the film’s official UK release, so you can brag and say you “saw it first.” Click here for tickets and more info.
The Favourite (With Your Favourite Pup)
When? 15:30, Friday 17th May How much? From £5 Where? Balham
What is it?
The Favourite, last year’s Oscar-winning historical drama starring Olivia Colman, Emma Stone, and Rachel Weisz, only this time – thanks to Puppy Love Cinema – you can watch it with your dog. The way it was meant to be viewed, obviously.
Sounds interesting! What else?
Dogs are allowed into the screening free-of-charge, and there will be pizza and drinks served afterwards. It’s 2019, people: this is normal now. Click here for tickets and more info.

A sing-a-long screening of cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Prince Charles Cinema, with the lyrics projected onto the screen. But you already know all the lyrics, don’t you? Yeah, you do.
Sounds interesting! What else?
Fans are invited to dress up for the occasion, whilst the screening will be hosted by somebody whose sole purpose is to get you to sing as loudly as possible. You’ll also get given a free interactive prop bag when you arrive. Prop bag, people. If that hasn’t sold you to the idea, what will? Click here for tickets and more info.
