Fancy a film with that added oomph? Discover the most interesting and unique screenings in the capital...
London: vast, diverse, and always ready to surprise you, no matter your thing. In Walloh’s case, it’s cinema, which means we’ve searched the capital for the most interesting and unique film screenings taking place this week. From exclusive screenings in some very obscure locations to an epic movie marathon stretching into the early hours of the next day, there’s bound to be something here for everyone…
A Star is Born on a (Fake) Beach
When? 19:30, Tuesday 23rd July How much? From £15.00 Where? Fulham
What is it?
Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga’s musical-romance, A Star is Born, but on a fake beach in Fulham. Part of Thames-side cocktail bar Neverland’s “Beach Club Cinema” screenings, it’s perfect viewing for this week’s sweat-inducing heatwave.
Sounds interesting! What else?
All the tickets come with bottomless popcorn, but it’s also possible to upgrade to options that include prosecco and pizza. You know you want to. Click here for tickets and more info.
An Underground Silent Film Night
When? 19:30, Thursday 25th July How much? From £10.00 Where? Rotherhithe
What is it?
1928 British romantic drama, Underground, screened – yep – underground in the Grand Entrance Hall of Brunel’s famous tunnel, built in 1843. Has a film screening and location combo ever been so apt?
Sounds interesting! What else?
The screening will also be accompanied with an original score by pianist Tom Marlow. You’re also encouraged to dress up in your best 60s garb (with prizes awarded for best costume). Basically it’s a one-way ticket to the past, this. Click here for tickets and more info.
Sing-A-Long to Grease
When? 20:30, Friday 26th July How much? From £17.00 Where? Leicester Square
What is it?
Musical classic Grease, of course, at the iconic Prince Charles Cinema in London – and you’re actually encouraged to sing-a-long, out loud, like that’s the most normal thing in the world.
Tell me more, tell me more…
This is the most interactive of evenings, and will therefore feature a host whose job is to guide you through the experience so you can make the most of it. You’ll also receive an interactive prop bag, which is absolutely never a bad thing. Click here for tickets and more info.
The Ultimate Harry Potter Marathon
When? 20:30, Saturday 27th July How much? From £30.00 Where? Leicester Square
What is it?
All the Harry Potter films, screened back-to-back at the Prince Charles Cinema, in one epic sitting. Almost certain to induce some form of Hogwarts-based delirium in all those who attend.
Sounds interesting! What else?
Do you have 1179 minutes to spare? You’re also encouraged to dress up in your favourite witch and wizard robes (and let’s face it, if you’re going to see this behemoth, that’s exactly what you wanted to hear). Click here for tickets and more info.
