Harlem Renaissance – Songs For Transition (2012)

Harlem Renaissance is an indie rock/kind-of-emo band from New York and I think they’re just swell. They’ve got that whole modern emo vibe thing going on sometimes, but they’re not particularly sad or depressing. More chilled out than bummed out. More head bobbing than tear sobbing. At least that’s how I feel when I listen to this thing. And I’m really digging the melodies, both vocal and instrumental. Five songs and they’re all good. Give it a listen. Or repeated listens.
