Rio Turvo (Muddy River)
Based on the homonymous hypnotic tale by Branquinho da Fonseca, Muddy River recounts the impossible love between an anonymous topographer, who has arrived in a marshland to plan an airport, and the beautiful marsh flower (Teresa Salgueiro, the ethereal voice of Madredeus). This tragic ballad reveals – to the sound of Fado music – parallel narratives of suspicion and conspiracy that unfold to the pace of unconscious forces.
