The Fourth Dimension

The Fourth Dimension on IMDb

Trinh T Minh-ha’s first digital film, The Fourth Dimension (2001) is an essay in sound and image that is immersed in Japan's East-Asian cultures and traditions. Deconstructing—and then reconstructing—the image and its role in contemporary cultures, Trinh furthers her exploration of time and memory in relation to 'the image' and the role of technology in shaping our vision of the digital age. The Fourth Dimension lays open our shifting relationship to images and their meaning through time, questioning the possible futures of collected and archived imagery.
