An affectionate portrait of Oscar-winning set and costume designer Sir Cecil Beaton CBE. Drawing in part on Beaton's diaries, which are read on camera by Rupert Everett, the film charts the rise of the London-born creative whirlwind, who is perhaps best known for his eye-catching contributions to the films Gigi and My Fair Lady. This includes Beaton's university days in 1920s Cambridge and his towering achievements as a photographer for fashion bible Vogue and other magazines.
