Chimes At Midnight
Narrated by Ralph Richardson, Orson Welles' 1966 film combines text and dialogues from five of Shakespeare's plays - Henry IV, Part 1, Henry IV, Part 2, Richard II, Henry V and The Merry Wives Of Windsor - to explore the surrogate father-son relationship of Sir John Falstaff and Prince Hal. The heir must ultimately choose between his strong emotional ties to Falstaff and familial duty to King Henry IV.
