The Big City
Bank clerk Subrata is less than supportive when his wife Arati decides to take a job as a door-to-door saleswoman to help support their family. His protests fall on deaf ears and she persists, earning a decent wage, which comes in very handy when Subrata suddenly finds himself out of a job. As the household's sole bread winner, Arati commands new found respect, helping her to redefine her self-identity as an Indian woman of the era.
