Pretty bookshop worker Jo Stockton catches the eye of fashion photographer Dick Avery, who realises that this unassuming young woman has the potential to become the next big thing. Initially, Jo is sceptical of the exciting opportunity and the chance to mix with the rich and fabulous. However, the deal is sealed with a trip to Paris and a meeting with one of her idols. As Jo embraces her new life, she has to contend with lecherous philosophers and faux pas on the catwalk.
