Bones of Contention
2018 | 1h 15m | Documentary, World
The number of victims of the Franco regime buried anonymously along the roads and in the fields of Spain is still uncertain, but it is well over one hundred and twenty thousand. Among them are the remains of Federico García Lorca, who has become the symbol for the recovery of the historical memory movement. Weiss, who has lived in Spain, explores in this film not only testimonies of the war atrocities but also LGBT oppression during the fascist regime.
