BORDERS, RAINDROPS explores love, maturity, and belonging, in the story of a young woman searching for her roots in the rocky Balkan landscape. As opposed to the common sentiments felt by Balkans who pursue their lives and find themselves in the West, Yagoda rediscovers her deep connection to her family and her identity as a woman of the East. Set against the barely distinguishable boundaries between Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, and Croatia, borders, as Yagoda learns, remains a cause of great resentment in former Yugoslavia.
