Ann, an aspiring filmmaker in New York, is desperate for a perfect relationship and thinks she knows what love should be. Surrounded by friends and happy couples, she tries and fails to stop falling in love with a set-up from her aunt. Consumed by the relationship, refusing to accept her eventual place in the “friend zone”, her work and other relationships begin to suffer. Her disappointments and emotions are channelled through her film work, tackling her worst fears and criticisms about herself.
