Twin sisters Olanna and Kainene are educated in England and return to Nigeria. Kainene shocks her friends and neighbours by becoming a businesswoman and pursuing a romance with an English writer called Richard. Meanwhile, Olanna's heart beats for professor Odenigbo and she moves in with him.
