Uzak (Distant)

Mahmut is a photographer, working in one of Istanbul's tile factories. He has little direction or purpose, wandering the streets while his personal life falls to pieces around him; his ex-wife has just found a new man and his mother is ill. Out of the blue, distant relative Yusuf turns up on Mahmut's doorstep, hoping to enrol in the merchant navy. Reluctantly, Mahmut allows him to stay, but as time progresses, Yusuf begins inventing reasons to stay in Istanbul.
