Saawariya
Based on the short story "White Nights" by Fyodor Dostoevsky, Saawariya (meaning Beloved) is a musical romance set against the picturesque backdrop of the northern Indian hill station of Simla. In this remote location of tall swaying pine trees and misty lakes, Raj and Sakina meet by chance and fall madly in love. Over four successive nights, the strangers pursue their parallel obsessions, each in search of lasting fulfilment.
