Umbilical Cords

Umbilical Cords is a ‘no-holds barred’ documentary exploring love and conflict between mothers and daughters living across different cultures. Three young women in their twenties live together in Cape Town, South Africa. With mothers from Argentina, Indonesia and Lesotho respectively, each mother-daughter relationship is maintained across countries and continents. Over five years, the trials of migration, religion and racism threaten these bonds.
