Rona, Azim's Mother
Azim, an Afghan refugee, who works at the municipality at night, lives in Tehran along with his family. As the oldest brother he arranges for his entire family to be smuggled into Germany. However, complicated familial relationships jeopardise the family's chances for a better future as his mother falls ill and is in need of a kidney transplant. With strict Iranian laws and the pressure to provide for his family, Azim has to make some compromises.
