Psychiatrist Freyr begins to practise in the remote Westfjords, which has been shocked by the deaths of several elderly residents. In Freyr's community, one ageing woman hung herself in the local church and when the psychiatrist probes further, he is shocked to discover that the victim had an unhealthy obsession with his seven-year-old son, who vanished three years ago. Meanwhile, city slicker Gardar and his friends Katrin und Lif renovate a dream house in an abandoned village.
