What we think

Impatient to get itself over with right from the start, a paper-thin script moves us from one irritating scene to the next, whilst the plot - a fetch quest in all but name - consists of the Doctor and his band of animal sidekicks - voiced by everyone from Tom Holland to Rami Maleck - being captured and then escaping just in the nick of time, over and over again.

What others think

I don’t particularly care for the end product but it’s not as hideous as that potted history might suggest, an average film rather than an atrocious one, a minuscule yet meaningful victory for Universal, still licking its wounds after Cats.
Benjamin Lee The Guardian
A garbled nothing, it fails even in the proper execution of its own bad ideas.
Charles Bramesco Little White Lies
Rumors of a troubled production and expensive reshoots may help explain the film’s floundering incompetence.
Peter Travers Rolling Stone
