The Un-Word (Das Unwort)
Iranian, Palestinian and Jewish students walk into a Berlin classroom – and all hell breaks loose. Trying to put back together the semblance of modern Germany’s tolerance are the culprits’ ostensibly liberal parents, ambitious school principal, jaded inspector and a well-intentioned but naïve teacher. Each harbours their own unknown prejudice and implicit biases, making co-existence a noble – but really hard to achieve – goal. Director Leo Khasin’s (Kaddish for a Friend) new film is a hilarious and thought-provoking satire about multiculturalism in Germany today.
