The barely-adult Kryštof, a novice hoping soon to take his vows, has recently joined a monastic community. He shares not only the brothers’ world of contemplation but is also a link in a long chain helping Czechoslovak runaways across the German border. Kryštof had wantedto flee from the world to the monastery, but he mustnow run to save his life and realize it is his last chance to revolt against brutal political power and save the one he loves.
