The Devil's Backbone (El Espinazo Del Diablo)
As the Spanish Civil War enters its final weeks, young Carlos is taken to a remote orphanage. During a late night excursion, he has his first encounter with "the one who sighs", a ghostly figure which haunts the outhouse and the orphanage's corridors. The other boys are terrified of the spectre, but Carlos is determined to make contact, and learns the terrible secret of its tragic past.
