Twenty-eight-year-old Tom follows in the footsteps of his conniving father, making money from dodgy real estate deals. By chance, he accepts an opportunity to play the piano, like his mother, and takes lessons from a Chinese virtuoso, Miao-Lin, who doesn't speak a word of French.
