Neurotic blue macaw Blu and Jewel are settled with their owners Linda and Tulio in Rio. The birds raise three children but Jewel worries the brood is too domesticated. So she insists that the entire family answers the call of the wild and heads to the Amazon. In this lush paradise, the city birds discover a flock of thriving blue macaws led by Jewel's father Eduardo and her charming old flame, Robert.
