Ninja Scroll
The lord of the Yamashiro clan knows the location of a secret mine laden with gold and he hires a ninja team led by Gemma Himuro to seize the mine by force. Gemma leads his men including Jubei Kibagami into action and once the lord has the mine, he plots against the ninjas, sowing the seeds of betrayal in the hope that they will kill one another. Jubei survives the bloodbath and wanders the land as an assassin for hire, haunted by his past.
