Inventor Flint Lockwood's machine, the FLDSMDFR, has continued to produce gargantuan foodstuffs on the island of Swallow Falls. The monstrous cheeseburgers are learning how to swim and in a very short time, these edible predators will reach the mainland and wreak havoc. So Flint embarks on a secret mission to destroy the FLDSMDFR accompanied by his meteorologist girlfriend, Sam Sparks, and some old friends.
